NFL Playoffs: 0-4 This Week

by @ 11:07 am. Filed under Sports

All 4 of my picks lost this last weekend. I can’t say I was to suprised by Indianapolis and Chicago, but the Eagles and Chargers loosing killed me.

So what next? I think it’s going to be the Patriots over the Colts, and Saints over the Bears. Brady is a proven QB in the playoffs, anbd Grossman is too shakey to carry the Bears.

NFL Playoffs: 2 - 2

by @ 9:22 pm. Filed under Sports

So far I’m 2 and 2 for my playoff predictions. New England and Philadelphia won, Dallas and Kansas City lost. My predictions for the Super Bowl are still possible.

So for week 2 of the playoffs I predict: Baltimore over Indianapolis, San Diego over New England, Seattle over Chicago, and Philadelphia over New Orleans.

2006 NFL Playoffs

by @ 9:48 pm. Filed under Sports

The season is over and the playoffs start next week. Even though the 49ers didn’t make it to the playoffs, they had a better season than anyone expected. They beat Seattle twice, and in the final game of the season they beat the Denver Broncos in overtime eliminating Denver’s playoff hopes.

So what are my predictions?

Next week it’s New England over the Jets, Kansas City over Indianapolis, Dallas over Seattle, and Philadelphia over the Giants.

49ers 24 - Seahawks 14

by @ 11:18 pm. Filed under Sports

I didn’t watch the game tonight and could kick myself. I knew the 49ers were playing Thursday this week, but completely forgot!

I’m really upset because the 49ers have a shot at winning the division, and with the Seahawks in first place this is an important game. I’m especially upset because the 49ers came back from behind to score 21 points in the 4th quarter to win.

So, with 2 games left the 49ers need to win both and Seattle needs to lose both go give the 49ers a shot. Will this happen? Over the next 2 weeks the 49ers are playing Arizona and Denver. Arizona should be a win, but Denver probably won’t. If they go 1 - 1 over the next 2 weeks they have a long shot at a wildcard spot.

Bottom line? The 49ers probably won’t go to the playoffs, but they are looking like a team that’s rebuilding nicely. Next season should be interesting.

Brutal lose, and yet hopeful

by @ 7:07 pm. Filed under Sports

The 49ers lost to day 48 to 19 to the San Diego Chargers. I know the score doesn’t say much, but it wasn’t that bad of a game.

The 49ers played tough against San Diego’s tough defense. Problem was the 49ers couldn’t stop Phil Rivers from leading the Chargers down the field tiime and time again.

Next week is a bye week for the 49ers, so that gives them 2 weeks to prepare for the Bears. The Bears have the touoghest defense in the NFL today. I’m excited to see how the 49ers deal with them.

49ers vs. Raiders!

by @ 12:51 pm. Filed under Sports

If you live in the SF bay area then you know how big this game is. Today, it’s the San Francisco 49ers vs. the Oakland Raiders.

It’s not that the 49ers and Raiders are rivals, it’s the fans who are the rivals. In the SF bay area you are either a 49ers fan, or a Raiders fan. If you love one, then you hate the other.

Personally, I hate the Raiders and am looking forward to watching the 49ers crush the raiders.

Not out yet….

by @ 7:02 pm. Filed under Sports

My wife and I went with some friends to watch the As and Angels play yesterday. I was the lone Angels fan in the group ans yes, I was brave enough to enter Oakland with an Angels jersey and hat on. I figured I’d be a sitting target. Instead, we were in the “Angels section”. All around us were Angels fans. I just got lucky I guess. Needless to say, we had a great time. The Angels even won, 6 - 2.

Then today, the won again, 7 - 1. Not to shabby.

Odds are, the A’s are going to win the division. They are 6 games ahead of us. There’s still a shot, but I’m not holding my breath.

49ers Won!

by @ 7:56 pm. Filed under Sports

The Niners beat the Rams, 20 to 13!

Frank Gore had a good game, and Alex Smith didn’t look half bad. Maybe we’ll have a 500 season!

4 and a half out….

by @ 10:17 pm. Filed under Sports

Even after sweeping the Mariners, the Angels are still 4 and a half games behind the A’s. Trouble is, the Rangers are only a game behind the Angels.

This could prove to be a close race in the AL West.

4 and a half out of first….

by @ 10:54 pm. Filed under Sports

I just got back from watching the Oakland A’s beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Considering that the LA Angels lost tonight, that puts the A’s 4 and a half games ahead of the Angels in the AL West.

It’s not always easy being an Angels fan in A’s country. Especially since the Angels have had a habit of stealing 1st place at the end of the season.

I have tickets to the A’s / Angels game on the 23rd. I’m hoping that will the race for the AL West penant will be close, but not too close.

While I’m on the topic, it was nice to see the San Francisco 49ers win last night. Even if it was only pre-season. A win against the Bears, is still a win.
